Job Description

Organization Overview

The American Indian Community Development Corporation (AICDC) is a culturally rooted nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening American Indian communities in the Twin Cities metro area. Founded in 1992, AICDC provides culturally unique initiatives, housing, and entrepreneurial programs that improve the lives and livelihoods of American Indian people. Through decades of service, AICDC has built strong, trusted relationships with Tribal Governments and community partners, working collaboratively to deliver respectful, community-driven services.

The Family Life Skills Coach partners with families to strengthen everyday living skills, communication, household routines, and overall family well-being. Through hands on coaching and individualized guidance, the coach helps to empower parents, caregivers, and children to develop the practical skills and confidence needed to promote stability, healthy relationships, and long-term self-sufficiency. The coach provides individualized in-home and community-based support, models parenting skills, connects families with community resources, and supports families in working toward greater independence and long-term stability. Support and services are adjusted to each family’s unique situation.

  • Provide practical coaching in real-world environments (e.g., supermarkets, transportation, community agencies).
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with program, organizational, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with social workers, educators, healthcare providers, and other professionals involved in the family’s support network.
  • Promote self-advocacy, independence, problem-solving, and long-term family stability.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional, ethical, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications
